Diagnostic Help
Before removing and sending your unit from anywhere in the UK, we recommend these essential first-step checks to confirm the fault is internal:
• Get a Detailed Diagnostic Report: Have a garage perform a scan and provide the specific Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
• Pro Tip: Ensure the technician scans modules individually.
Global scans often miss specific stored codes critical for repair.
• Identify the Source: Note exactly which modules the codes originated from (e.g., Engine Control Module vs. ABS Module).
• Check the Basics: Verify that battery voltage is stable and all earth points/wiring looms are free from corrosion or green death.
• Consult the Specialist: Our founder, Shane Sharp, has been involved in the electronics and mechanical engineering industry since 1995.
Specializing in automotive electronic remanufacturing since 2012, we can often identify if your codes point to a known inherent design flaw like those found in ATE MK61 / MK100 or Bosch 5.7 / 8.0 / 9.0 units over the phone.
Technical Service & Expertise
Yes – This is where AP-Reman excels.
We frequently receive units from across the UK that were returned as non-repairable by high-volume repair-and-return shops.
Because our background bridges both mechanical engineering and complex electronics, we can rectify hardware-level failures that standard shops often miss.
No – We repair your original unit, which eliminates the need for any programming after a repair as the coding and programming data is retained.
Our repair process is strictly Plug & Play.
Note: The Data Services we offer (Full Data Cloning, Map Retention, and VIN Programming) are specifically for when a replacement unit is required, ensuring it arrives ready to work with no additional programming needed at the vehicle.
A true Plug & Play solution with no additional programming required at the vehicle.
A used unit is a ticking time bomb – it likely carries the same inherent design flaws as your original part.
At AP-Reman, we don’t just patch the fault; we often use uprated, higher-spec components that exceed the original manufacturer’s specifications to provide a long-term, permanent solution.
Because we have such confidence in our engineering process and component quality, we provide a Lifetime Warranty on our remanufactured units, giving you total peace of mind that a breakers yard part simply cannot offer.
ATE MK100 ABS Pump Failures
The ATE MK100 ABS Pump is found in a massive range of modern vehicles from AUDI to VOLVO, commonly found on but not limited to BMW , FORD, VAG (VW/Audi), Stellantis (Peugeot/Citroen).
Unlike older units that simply failed “electrically,” the MK100 often exhibits a dangerous mechanical-electronic hybrid fault: Brake Binding.
Common Symptoms:
- Brakes applying themselves without driver input.
- Brakes binding specifically when the windscreen wipers are activated (common on BMW models).
- “Drag” felt while driving, leading to overheated discs and pads.
- Fault code C1380 (Recirculation Pump Supply Voltage).
The AP-Reman Fix: We don’t just fix the fault. We address the internal piston sticking and the electronic control failure that causes the pump to “hang” in an active state.
Our remanufacturing process ensures the internal valving and motor control circuit are uprated to prevent future seizures.
We provide a Lifetime Warranty on our remanufactured units.
UK-Wide Shipping & Logistics
We accept units from all over the UK. To ensure your part arrives safely for surgery, please follow these steps:
• 1 Download the Test Form: Click here to download our Test Form. Complete the form and include it in the box.
• 2 Protect the Unit: Use multiple layers of bubble wrap or heavy-duty foam. High-density cardboard is a must.
• 3 Prevent Leaks (ABS Pumps): Drain all fluids and cap the ports.
Brake fluid is highly corrosive, it will destroy the packaging, potentially damage other parcels and can destroy your test form, making it impossible for us to identify your unit or contact you.
• 4 Address: Send your units to –
AP-Reman.com
74 Dovedale Circle
Ilkeston
Derbyshire
DE7 8SG.
We recommend using UPS for reliable tracking.
• 5 Verification: If our professional bench test results differ from your description, we will contact you to discuss the findings before proceeding.
If the faults match, we proceed with the repair immediately.
• 6 Turnaround time: Our standard testing and repair process is typically completed within 2-3 working days.
• 7 No Fault Found (NFF): If your unit passes our testing with no faults found, we will contact you to discuss the results.
We don’t just send it back; we will work with you to help diagnose the issue on the vehicle side.
• 8 Payment and Return: Once the repair is complete, we will contact you to arrange payment before shipping the unit back to you.
• 9 Lifetime Guarantee: We stand behind our craftsmanship.
Every repair is backed by a comprehensive lifetime warranty for as long as you own the vehicle.
Post-Repair Support
• 1. Check for Codes: While our repairs are usually Plug and Play, in some cases, units need the codes cleared using a suitable scan tool to extinguish warning lights.
• 2. The Wake-up Drive: Many systems (especially ABS/ESP) require a short test drive, usually above 15mph to allow sensors to re-calibrate and the self-test to complete.
• 3. External Variables: If the unit passed our rigorous bench testing but the fault persists, the issue is likely external (wiring, earth points, or sensors). We provide your specific test results to help you or your mechanic isolate these variables.
